Cecchi

Andrea Cecchi

Famiglia Cecchi

Succeeding generations of the Cecchi family have been present on the historical journey of the evolution of Italian wine from a peasant product to a premium national brand that is well-known and highly appreciated worldwide.

The Cecchi family’s story is down-to-earth. Because of his skills as a wine taster, Luigi Cecchi originated the dynasty in 1893, which is still known and prized for producing quality wines. As early as the 1930s, the family name had crossed Italy’s national borders, initiating an almost unlimited growth. Then, in the 1970s, the family moved to Castellina in Chianti, a long-time production area for Chianti Classico, where it created a new production process that still guarantees consistent quality today.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the family tackled other terroirs like San Gimignano, where it produces Vernaccia, and the Maremma, with its Morellino. Today, the Cecchi family is one of the leading names due to the size of its vineyards and the quality of its wines.
