Villa Trasqua is a timeless universe in which a temple is where the classic becomes contemporary, and the future’s value comes from what has been learned from the past.
Trasqua is a land of ancient fortifications, castles, and outposts. Central to the disputes between Florence ad Siena, the cradle of Italian civilization, the two cities fought from the mid-13th century until the dawning of the 15th century when the City of Lilies took control.
A shared journey with enologist Franco Bernabei, a leading Sangiovese/Chianti Classico expert, brings the focus back to the vineyard and the organic vision of its vegetative microcosm, considered equal with a complex ecosystem in which every part, even the corpuscular, contributes to balancing the whole.
Consequently, Villa Trasqua began a mass selection process of the clones used in the vineyards and, at the same time, decided to use only native yeasts.
